Housing Ministry

Western Loudoun

Tree of Life provides transitional housing to families, single women, and individuals with special needs. As of 2024, we have housed more than 100 individuals.  In addition to helping fill the need for affordable housing in the county, the program is designed to lead each resident towards self-sufficiency and independence.  We do this by surrounding them with a program of support that covers multiple areas of development: financial and job coaching, mentoring, spiritual care, health coaching, and more.   Our current housing is located in Western Loudoun, but our hope is to expand into Eastern Loudoun at the earliest opportunity.

Our Transitional Housing program was designed for those who are willing to work hard and achieve goals they set for themselves. The program involves mandatory weekly classes.

The people housed in our apartments gather together weekly in Partner Care Groups and volunteers who co-lead these groups have caring hearts and the ability to help others set and meet goals. Please sign up here if this describes you.

Mentoring

Western Loudoun

This ministry provides structured mentoring and guidance to the individuals in our Housing Ministry. The program is designed to help them reach their individual goals, provide a network of support, and foster success and independence.  Mentors also help them take advantage of the wide variety of services available to them through Tree of Life's other ministries, including English classes, community dinners, and more.

Summer Giveaways

Western & Eastern Loudoun

Tree of Life hosts "Summer Giveaway" events every year that help families in Loudoun and neighboring communities. Our flagship event in Purcellville offers donated clothing, furniture, backpacks, school supplies, haircuts, and more to those in need. This year, we provided over 700 backpacks and school supplies at events in Purcellville and Sterling, as well as providing them directly to family liaisons at local schools.  Clothing was given to 752 individuals, 90 received free furniture, 70 free haircuts were provided, as well as distributing 150 Bibles and sharing the Gospel with over 600 people. These events involve around 100 volunteers each year to help us get ready and also host the events, as well as support from local businesses, churches, local health organizations, and more.

The Clothing Closet

Purcellville and Leesburg

One of two Tree of Life Gospel Enterprises, this is a unique boutique thrift shop located in both Purcellville and Leesburg, offering gently used clothing and accessories available for sale to the public.  The Clothing Closet also has a voucher program that provides free clothing to those in need.  Those who call in for assistance get a private appointment to shop for their family and as of this year over 1000 individuals have received free clothing from the stores.  To learn more, click here.
